 We teach many styles of martial arts and Asian Healing practices.  People of all ages and abilities are welcome to come in to try classes.  We suggest talking to an Instructor to help you pick which discipline would best suite your needs.  To help you educate yourself as to the different styles we teach and their benefits, take some time to read these descriptions. 

 Kung Fu

Centuries of research and development have resulted in the martial art movement known as Kung Fu and practiced for the benefits of internal and external strength and mental conditioning. The styles of Kung Fu taught are Northern Shaolin Long Fist and Southern Hung Gar.  Students learn to use their entire body as one unit engaging in larger range of motion with  their limbs resulting in stronger and more precise strikes and kicks.  more...

 

Kenpo  Karate 

Movements of these styles are practiced to develop physical strength, speed, timing and coordination.   Students learn basic hand attacks, kicking, blocking and self defense. more...

 

Tai Chi Chuan

Students learn to coordinate hand, foot, and breath control.  The movements are practiced slowly without force or power.    Tai Chi is also known as moving meditation.  People of all ages can benefit from this movement.  Yang style Tai Chi Chuan and Eight pieces of Brocade Chi Kung are taught to beginners. Benefits include Stress reduction, flexibility, coordination, internal health, expels toxins, mental clarity.  more... 

 

Chi Kung (Qi Gong)

 

The ancient Chinese discovered that it was possible to develop and direct the body’s vital energy, or Chi, in particular ways.  It could be nurtured to help prevent disease and premature ageing.  It could be made to flow from one person to another and thereby be used to help heal the sick.  It could also be employed with powerful effect in the martial arts.  The exercise systems used to stimulate and channel human energy came to be known as Chi Kung, which literally means “energy exercise.”  more...

Bagwa Zhang 

This unique style with Daoist origins is an internal form of martial arts. The practice of Bagwa Zhang develops the body internally and externally. Bagwa Zhang was designed as a defense against multiple opponents. It is also well recognized for it’s moving meditation or circle walking. Bagwa Zhang’s style is distinguished by serpentine turning and circling movements. Benefits include increased range of motion, physical strength, coordination, internal chi balancing, mental and emotional balancing, renewed sense of well-being, martial art applications. more... 

 

 Weapons

Students learn traditional Chinese weapons.  Through weapons training all areas of the body and mind are further developed.  One will discover an increased ability to use concentration, the mind is more sharp, clear and focused.  Staff & Broadsword are the first weapons taught.  A student may later wish to learn all 18 of the Kung Fu weapons. more...
